Okay, so this is my final post…
And I’ve come to the realization, that some communities are just not meant for everyone. I’ve had Delicious for a few months now and as you can see from my Bookmark page, the last link I tagged was in October. I’m not much of a bookmarker, because I don’t surf as much as the average internet user. I mainly spend time exchanging photo’s and comments with friends on Facebook and Twitter, or I do graphic design. Lately I haven’t had much time for tutorials so I didn’t bookmark any good ones recently.
The fact that I don’t have any friends on Delicious also does not draw me to visit the community, and I don’t have interest in bookmarks of unknown people.

This community is purely about sharing links, which is not of much interest to me.
The public profile on Delicious does not provide any personal information about the users, which makes it very a-social. I don’t feel like an interest in bookmarks or a certain subject is enough for me to want a friendship with anyone on Delicious.
The lack of entertainment has made me abandon this website completely.

However as I did mention in my previous posts, I still liked the fact that you can really organize your bookmarks per category and they are easy to trace back. I think I will be using Delicious as more as organizing tool then a place to be social. I’m not sure if this is a bad thing, but I am really impressed with the structure.
I also like the fact that I can see recently added bookmarks from random people and I like the fact that I can view them whenever I want and not have to socialize. But this behavior is not new to me, I often find myself never commenting or thanking users for helpful, videos, pictures, music etc on various social network services such as YouTube and Bit torrent.

I guess this makes me a lurker, but as long as it’s not illegal I will continue to be one and abuse the fact that I can be totally rude and remain anonymous.

Thanks for reading my blog posts, I hope you have better luck with this community then I did.

Signing out for good!
